A big contract after one good year worked out for us. I’m sure it will for them, too.

Did he win a MAC tournament in these last 2 years? No! 3 years? No!
This is the reason why he did not receive any big time offers.

How do you know what kind offers he received? Also, he made it pretty clear that he wasn't open to other offers.

Isn’t Steele’s father in-law loaded? Seems like they have zero stress in wanting to leave Cincinnati area for a bigger check.

His new Miami contract should cover the price of eggs.

Miami did not win the three game league tournament. However, they have won 25 and 32 games the last two seasons. They were ranked in the top 25 for several weeks and ranked as high as 20th this season. The RedHawks were unbeaten in the regular season and won a game in the NCAA tourney this year. Many Bobcat fans would have been ecstatic to have the kind of success Miami achieved these last two years.

Bryan Hodgson went from Arkansas State to South Florida without winning a Sun Belt Conference tournament after just two seasons. He didn't even make the NCAA. It's more than possible Steele received interest and opted to stay put.

He said he wanted to "stay put." And, you know, every once in a while these days a men's college basketball coach speaks the truth when he opens his mouth. I know it's rare, but it does happen. This might be one of those rare instances.

If he produces a season similar to the last one, jobs a lot harder to turn down are gonna come calling.

After you fail at a job like Steele did at Xavier, it takes a while to rehabilitate interest in you. AD's are going to want to see that his success at Miami is sustained and not due to scheduling or getting lucky on Suder. If he had 5 years of success at Miami, he might have been more in play at Butler. But would have been hard for Butler to sell Steele to fans after he didn't get the job done at a similar school (Xavier) in the league.
