Will face 3-seed St. John's today who knocked off Florida State yesterday.

For decades, I've rooted for all MAC schools when playing against teams from other conferences. From Sept. non-conference football matchups to March Madness games. From Miami football and basketball games to EMU women's golf in the national tournament.

Having said that, is it OK if I don't root for NIU in the 2026 baseball tournament?

I love some chaos in the tournament. Hope a mid major can advance to Omaha. I think Ryan Copeland taking NIU to the Regional after taking the helm for 3 years and inheriting a 11-43 team is the measuring stick for See. Maybe one extra year but the improvements really need to start showing up now that the honeymoon is over.

All the teams that went to Omaha last year have been eliminated.

I understand that perspective. I was rooting for them just for the sake of the conference's lifetime results/record in the tourney. Good that they got a win but unfortunately couldn't get thru.

This tourney is awesome every year and people are starting to catch on...ratings have been steadily creeping up for years. The energy and passion is unmatched.

Off topic but wanted to rant for a second. The sportsmanship in both the softball and baseball tournament this year has been a disgusting display. I really think the NCAA should start to fine these programs when players get tossed for taunting and unsportsmanlike behavior. Hold these coaches responsible for allowing this generation to trash the game. I'm not anti celebration by any means but this is out of control at this point.

100%. It’s embarrassing. Umpires have had to do what coaches are apparently refusing to do. Screaming “F&$! YOU!” at a guy after an 87 MPH fastball in a game you’re losing tells me you can’t handle playing at this level.

I commend the umpires for trying to take back some control. Literally saving the game because coaches refuse to take a stand.
