I suspect that this is about 3 points more than it would have been a few days ago. Ohio won but arguably got outplayed and might be without key pieces.

Having just watched Purdue vs. Wake Forest, I am reminded what a bullet we dodged two years ago by having South Alabama's Gio Lopez unable to play. He's the starter for Wake now and gave Purdue fits with his legs and arm talent. Hopefully there's not that level of drop-off at our quarterback position, this time, with a week of preparation.

USA had Tulane on the ropes so they are better than being picked in the SBC West Division. Night game, guessing muggy, banged up ... another tough test. A bye week now would've been nice.

Wishing only good health and recovery to Brune. However, if he cannot go, are we going to see Irving Brown? Impressive HS stats. I saw one carry against Nebraska and I'm sold.

I look forward to seeing what Brown can add to OUr running game, as well as fellow redshirt frosh RB Michael Taylor.

Who will be available at QB?

I'm trying to remain positive but this is going to be tough to pull off. Concerns on both sides of the ball. The defense hasn't played as well as I had hoped so far but hoping it starts to level up week by week. South Alabama seems to have a potent offense, we will need a couple turnovers.

Offensively, obviously the QB situation is the big question mark. Beyond just the injuries, are we able to push the ball downfield in the air? The run game needs at least the threat to throw downfield in order to be effective and not sure we're getting that at this point. Not sure if this is a QB issue or a WR issue but didn't seem like our receivers had much separation against Jax St. We're missing that explosiveness that Hendricks and Bangura brought.

Our LB corps was supposed to be the strength of our defense this year. I was mighty disappointed in their performance on Saturday night.

I was disappointed in both games. Lateral speed is not there for covering in the flats. I was hoping they would improve in those areas. Still a lot of season, so hopefully they become the group that was expected.

I walked out of Peden behind 2 football players. One said "So who is starting QB next week" and the other said "psh I have no idea."

Hendricks was also a relentless blocker on the perimeter and downfield, and Harris was solid in that regard. Need some improvement there as well.

I recall the pithy saying, “ If you have two QB’s you don’t have any” BUT if #1 and # 2 are expected to be out for the game(s) I would think QB by committee is acceptable if they #3 & #4 have decidedly different strengths. No film on one and very little on two in is not something the opponents can easily game plan.

Nice to have Grand as the backup…but from what I see from Davis we should be ok. He is a game changer.

On your first snap when you shake a DE and go scampering to the GL, you are gonna be alright.

I'm not saying he's Poulos or Vezza, but as he grows he might be the next great one.

The spread started @ -4.5 now -7.0. what's going on here. Do the bookies know something we don't?

I think it is just due to a very impressive loss by South Alabama and unimpressive win by Ohio.

A little. I think that it has more to do with the likelihood of of us starting a third string QB and being without numerous other starters.
